![]() Some of the people that I met in Greece had lost their homes and jobs and were living on the streets with only a little bit of money to their name. The experience that I had in Italy and Greece really reminded me about how lucky I was to be living in a country that is flooded with opportunities for success and economic advancement. I got to create meaningful relationships with locals in which I learned about their outlook on life and the opportunities for careers and lifestyles that their countries provided to them. This traveling experience opened my eyes to so many different perspectives and possibilities that were around me that I had never realized before. I got to experience how it felt to live in another country which was something that I had no previous experience of considering that I had never left the southeastern U.S. In that one summer, I learned so much about myself and other people around the world in such a short amount of time. Sometimes I have thought that this has been a disadvantage in my life, especially after I traveled to Italy and Greece one summer. However, I have never traveled anywhere in the U.S. The term of southern hospitality really is a legitimate thing and I have known it and embraced it my entire life. My home state is wonderful, and it has a mix of all different types of people with weird, but nice personalities.
